William Kelly Presents at Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel 2014 Winter Meeting

William J. Kelly presented during the Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel’s 2014 Winter Meeting at The Charter in Beaver Creek, Colorado that took place from March 2-6, 2014. He was a panelist during the Employment Law Update with Professor William R. Corbett, Executive Director of LADC. He also provided an update on United States Supreme Court cases impacting Rule 23’s class certification requirements. The Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel is an organization of approximately 1,800 Louisiana attorneys who are primarily engaged in the defense of civil litigation.

William Kelly Conducts National Webinar for Professional Liability Attorney Network (PLAN)

On January 28, 2014, William Kelly co-presented in a national webinar broadcast, presenting a CLE entitled “Defending Private D&O Non-Compete Disputes.” The webinar was attended by professional liability defense attorneys from across the nation. Julie Walker Successfully Defends Dismissal of Failure-to-Warn Lawsuit Against Crocs

Julie Walker successfully resisted the appeal of a summary judgment in favor of Crocs, Inc. on a products liability suit filed in federal court in Massachusetts. Plaintiff Nancy Geshke filed suit alleging design defect, failure to warn and breach of warranty claims against Crocs arising out of injuries her daughter sustained when her shoe became entrapped in an escalator. William Kelly Speaks at 31st Annual National CLE Conference in Vail, Colorado

On January 10, 2014, William Kelly spoke at the Thirty-First Annual National CLE Conference in Vail, Colorado. He spoke on a panel covering the topic of Winning the Settlement Conference. Included in the country’s leading labor and employment practitioners. The CLE is hosted by the Colorado Bar Association in coordination with the governing Council of the American Bar Association Section of Labor and Employment Law.

William Kelly Named a BTI Client Service All-Star

William Kelly was named a Client Service All-Star in the BTI Consulting Group’s 2014 annual listing of attorneys “who drive superior client relationships.” Only a small number of attorneys (and less than 100 litigators) from across the nation were named to this year’s list. Law firms and outside attorneys cannot submit nominations, supply client names or otherwise influence the results.
